SECURITY INFORMATION

Internet/ E-Mail Fraud Alert

The term phishing comes from the fact that Internet scammers are using increasingly sophisticated lures as they "fish" for users' financial information and password data. The most common ploy is to copy the Web page code from a major site - such as AOL and use that code to set up a replica page that appears to be part of the company's site. A fake e-mail is sent out with a link to this page, which solicits the user's credit card data or password. When the form is submitted, it sends the data to the scammer while leaving the user on the company's site so they don't suspect a thing.

Phishing is just one of the many ways people are having their identity stolen. To help our members Chief Financial offers a program that will help monitor your personal information, credit report and much more to prevent your identity from being stolen.

Introducing MasterCard SecureCode: Your own private code for added peace of mind when you shop online. It's a new service to enhance your existing MasterCard card. Your own private code means added protection against unauthorized use of your card when you shop online. Every time you pay online at a participating merchant with you MasterCard card, a box pops up from your card issuer asking you for your SecureCode - like the credit union does at an ATM. In seconds, your issuer confirms it is you and allows your purchase to continue. To sign up for this added safety feature please Click Here!
